Sansui Electric Co., Ltd. (山水電気株式会社, Sansui Denki Kabushiki-gaisha) is a Japanese manufacturer of audio and video equipment. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, it is part of Grande Holdings, a Chinese Hong Kong-based conglomerate, who also owns Japanese brands Akai and Nakamichi.
Here is a very nostalgic and famous Sesame Street film clip about the ball rolling down the slide. Goofy music and kids saying "1, 2, 3" make it a very unique segment. They came out with the cherry ending for some reason but the powder one is the original.
From one of the early seasons, Morgan Freeman and Rita Moreno get their song on. A similar tune was used later as "One Word Comes After Another", with the same basic concept. I have to admit, this ultra hippie Easy reader was always my favorite.
Easy Reader (Morgan Freeman) was a smooth hipster who loved to read at every opportunity and every printed thing he saw. He was often associated with Valerie the Librarian (Hattie Winston), and in earlier seasons with Vi (Lee Chamberlin) in her diner. His name is a pun on the title of the film Easy Rider.
